Friends of the Poudre Summer 2000 Newsletter
A development consultant and fundraiser for land trusts and nonprofit conservation groups has joined the board of directors for Friends of the Poudre.
In April, Cheryl Fox replaced outgoing member Phil Friedman, who had served as an extremely active board member for the better part of a decade.
Phil was instrumental in the success of many Friends Of The Poudre projects, but was particularly successful in such projects as Gateway Park where the organization dealt directly with the city of Fort Collins. Phil resigned to have more time in his personal life and other areas, but will occasionally still be active in watershed issues and Friends Of The Poudre.
"Phil's steady enthusiasm and consuming dedication to the river and Friends Of The Poudre will be missed," says board president David Lauer.
Cheryl has worked in development, foundation relations and fundraising for conservation organizations since 1992. Currently, she is director of foundation relations for Land Trust Alliance.
"Cheryl brings a wealth of information and experience to the board that Friends Of The Poudre has not previously had," David says. All board members are volunteers.
