To protect the Cache la Poudre River.
Friends Of The Poudre is a citizens group dedicated to the preservation of a free-flowing Cache la Poudre River through education and collaborative relationships, to serve the needs of the human and natural communities within its watershed.
In the next five years (by March, 2003) Friends Of The Poudre will:
Adhere to a focused plan of action to preserve, restore and enhance critical areas of the Cache la Poudre watershed. For example,
The opening of Gateway Park.
Develop a process to involve a critical mass of regional watershed stakeholders, taking advantage of opportunities to build coalitions.
Establish a Technical Advisory Board that would include, but not be limited to, expertise in the following fields critical to the protection of the watershed: water & geological sciences, agriculture, government and law.
Develop a continuing funding base and employ staff.
Provide effective and timely education and information to the public.
Monitor and address the changing needs of both human and natural communities in the watershed.
Have 3000 paid members.
